(1 mile east of Shakopee; enter via the far west gate, not the main gate) 

9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. both days 

~ ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND THIS FREE EVENT ~ 

~ NO PREVIOUS SINGING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY ~ 

~ FREE SINGING SCHOOL, Friday, Sept. 25th, 7 – 9 pm ~ 

led by shape-note singer/folk musician TIM ERIKSEN 

Twin Cities Friends Meetinghouse, 1725 Grand Ave., Saint Paul 

~ THE SACRED HARP TUNEBOOKS (1991 Denson revision, “red book”)

are available on loan, or purchase a book on site for $25.00

~ NOONTIME POTLUCK “DINNER ON THE GROUNDS” provided by local host singers both days

THE SACRED HARP continues a 200 year old American tradition

of singing non-denominational hymns and songs written with shaped note heads.

Singers sit in a hollow square facing the center and sing four parts, a cappella, with uninhibited vigor.
