About the Choirs

The Choirs at Minneapolis Community and Technical College

We have two different choir options available – Vocal Ensemble and Lunch Break Choir. Read on for more detailed descriptions. For details on how to join, click here.

College Choir

The Minneapolis College Choir (listed in the course catalogue as MUSC 1310 – College Choir) is made up of members of the Minneapolis College community who love to sing. No previous musical background is required for membership in this chorus, and there is no need to audition. All you need is a willingness to work hard, a love of music, and a desire to sing with others. All interested students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to join.

The College Choir meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:00 – 1:15 in F2700.

Lunch Break Choir

The Minneapolis College Lunch Break Choir is made up of Minneapolis College staff and faculty. It rehearses once a week with the College Choir. Some choral singing experience and familiarity with music notation is helpful.  This choir performs publicly with the other ensembles at least once per semester. If you are a non-student employee of Minneapolis College, you are eligible to join this choir. Information on how to join will come via Sharepoint Connect toward the beginning of each semester. You may also contact the director with any questions (see Contact in the navigation bar).

Lunch Break Choir meets with College Choir Wednesdays from 12:00 – 1:15 in F2700, but if that time does not work for you, please contact the director for alternative opportunities (see Contact in the navigation bar above).
