Minneapolis Community and Technical College will present a Spring Choral Concert featuring the Minneapolis College Choir Friday May 9th at 7:00 pm in the Whitney Fine Arts Theater, 1424 Yale Place, on the Minneapolis College campus in downtown Minneapolis.
The concert, directed by Elizabeth Pauly and accompanied by Joel Sundseth will feature the choirs’ characteristic blend of art music with folk and traditional music from across the globe. Selections will include Stardust, B.E. Boykins’ moving response to the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and the victims of the Mother Emmanuel shooting, Carlos Guastavino’s gorgeous Se Equivoco la Palomo, and Sten Källmen’s haunting setting of the Haitian folksong Fré O among other selections. Children are welcome.
