Top Ten Sing-A-Long Songs (But LOUDLY) During the Helland Center Construction

This list comes courtesy of Craig Hergert. Since we are all suffering through the Helland Center construction, I say, let’s at least get some fun out of this.

Here is Craig’s original top 10

10. I Feel the Earth Move (Under My Feet)
9.  Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On
8. You Make Me Wanna Shout
7. Do You Hear What I Hear?
6. All I Need is the Air that I Breathe
5. Shake, Shake, Shake
4. Knock Three Thousand Times (On the Building if You Want Me)
3. The Sounds of Silence (one for you irony fans)
2. Maxwell’s Silver (Jack)Hammer
1. We Gotta Get Out of This Place

I am adding “Shake, Rattle and Roll”
from other choir members:
“Light” and “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey
“Come on, Feel the Noise”

If you have more to add, put them in the comment section!

MCTC Presents an Early Winter Concert

Minneapolis Community and Technical College will present an Early Winter Choir Concert featuring the MCTC Concert Choir and Vocal Ensemble Friday December 10 at 7:30 pm in the Whitney Fine Arts Theater, 1424 Yale Place, on the MCTC campus in downtown Minneapolis. The concert, directed by Dr. Elizabeth Pauly and accompanied by Christopher Wolter will include compositions and arrangements by Ruth Morris Gray, Michael Praetorious and Alan Naplan among others. The choirs will be joined by guest artist percussionist Thomas Reimer. Songs will be sung from all over the world, in languages ranging from Hebrew to Spanish. A reception in the Fine Arts lobby will follow immediately after the concert. Light refreshments will be served. Children are welcome. Admission to this concert is free, but the choirs ask that you bring a non-perishable food donation that you may deposit in the marked bins outside the theater. Food donations will go to the Hennepin County Emergency Food Network.
