The Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth Pauly will be featured on the upcoming concert <em>Would You Harbor Me?<\/em> &#8211; a concert centered around themes of crisis, homelessness, resilience, isolation, belonging and community.<\/p>\n<p><em>Cantus<\/em>, a nine-voice full-time professional ensemble, began as a student led organization at St. Olaf College in 1995 and transitioned into a professional ensemble in 1999. They have been described as \u201cthe premier men\u2019s vocal ensemble in the United States\u201d (Fanfare Magazine). In 2009 they won the prestigious Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence from Chorus America, and have performed with such notable organizations as The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Boston Pops. <em>Cantus<\/em> is one of only two professional classical all-male vocal ensembles in the United States, and the only professional vocal ensemble led entirely by its members.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is an incredible honor for the Vocal Ensemble to have the opportunity to sing with <em>Cantus.<\/em>\u201d says their director, Liz Pauly. \u201cThey are fantastic musicians and incredibly creative in their approach to choral music. We are all very excited to be working with them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The concert, <em>Would You Harbor Me?<\/em>, will be on Thursday, April 7, 2016, 7:30 pm. The location will be Antonello Hall, MacPhail Center for Music\u00a0\u2013\u00a0501 S 2nd St in Minneapolis.
